North Carolina Second Chance Community Development Corporation (NCsecondchancecdc), is a non-profit organization that helps citizens released from incarceration and their families achieve a successful re-entry back into society. We provide reentry services, connections, and restorative resources for participants both inside and outside of prison. These practices define who we are, how we work with the communities we serve, and how we train our volunteers.
We aim to serve Harnett, Lee, Wake, and Johnston Counties by providing civic engagement for communities of color, and reducing disparate outcomes for people of color through education and workforce development. We also serve economically disadvantaged families and
individuals within these counties.
We will offer assistance utilizing the resources of the Seven Core Components needed to achieve a successful re-entry back into society, which are: Employment, Education, Housing, Healthcare, Food/Clothing, Spiritual Guidance and Family reunification.
It is NC Second Chance CDC's mission to devise an appropriate individualized plan for each client, by utilizing these components as tools to success. All of our components are essential to NC Second Chance CDC and the support to Reentry.
Many newly released individuals have spent years being told what to do. Our approach is to provide them with the resources that would enable and support their plans after completing NC Second Chance CDC Component Step Program.
We Build Strength, Stability, and Security through Re-Entry.
